People's eyes are always the first thing I notice about them, and say so much more to me than any other feature. This is from a portrait of Paul I was experimenting with, and I wanted the eyes to be the most striking feature (apart from the colour), so I thought it would fit in well with this week's Inspire Me Thursday theme, body parts.

this is an amazing piece...i love everthing about it!
... yep its a keeper.
...and the second thing you notice ?
Interesting choice of colouring.
Masking the eyes so It wasn't the first thing I noticed.
Was this just instinctive, randomness or pre-meditated clour wash?
The free flow of the colour appeals to me, (Im one of those who fears going out side the lines.)
Tammy, you are really moving toward abstract in this one and it is really nice. The colors and design are great.
I love how the face seems to come forth from the washes of color. This has a loose look that's very appealing. The green splotches make me think of tears.
Thanks everyone! And Sim, I'm afraid that it's usually the shoes I notice next. They say so much about a person!
Oh, and the colour wash was pretty much random and instinctive.
