I know it's the height of laziness but I decided to order one of those grow your own herbs kit off the internet. We don't have a garden centre near us and we don't drive so it was the best option. Plus it meant this got done fairly quickly and easily!
I don't know how long it will take for the seeds to germinate and grow, but it's exciting to wait and see.

Love the box - much nicer than anything you'd get at a garden centre ;)
I've just sown 3 whole planters of oregano in the garden, since we use loads of the stuff. I've also got chives, rosemary, parsley, thyme, angelica, lemon balm, mint and basil coming in existing planters, and it all smells gorgeous.
I love herbs, they were the first things I planted when we moved in 8 years ago and it's so satisfying the way they're just there, year after year, despite all my neglect ;)
Ooo! Looks great! Can't wait to see it frothing over with pungent (I'll imagine the smell) leaves... We sowed various herb seeds last month, and I remember reading that chives wanted to be pretty warm to germinate so we put them in the propagator and they worked out fine. Basil likes it dead warm too, but has to be my favourite herb in the world. You're on a roll! :D xxx
