the shoe project begins...

So this is what I'm gonna do. Draw every pair of my shoes in this craft paper spiral bound book. Make it into a shoe diary of sorts, as some shoes even have a story attached to them.

I have 24 pairs of shoes, not 200 as some people have suggested, but a mere 24, and this includes flip flops, slippers and trainers, some of which I've been accumulating since the 1990s. Not quite Imelda Marcos then! So the drawings should fill the book nicely. How many pairs do you have? Will you take up the challenge?

What a great concept! You are right; shoes do have a story to tell. I love your illustrations and how you have captured the character of each pair of shoes. I hope you will show more soon.

lol...I just recently created a tribute to high heel boots...although I don't even own a pair yet. Maybe someday.

you're the second blogger I've seen recently documenting shoes. I'm tempted to do the same - I'll let you know if I do! I own two pairs of sandals, two pairs of black boots, one pair of hiking boots, one pair of sensible every day shoes and one pair of summer shoes.

A great idea, and fun to look at! Part of my shoe collection includes my cowboy boots from when I was two. I also have a pair of my grandfather's cowboy boots. I look at them and and I see a connection, a story.... Shoes really are special, they've gone such interesting places!

I love this! Very creative, and wonderfully illustrated. They have a personality!.. "The Shoe Diaries"...sounds like a mystery series on Public Televison. ..inviting!

This is such a fun idea! I love what you've done so far... and the challenge sounds like it has a lot of creative possibility. I have no idea how many pairs of shoes I have... they're all over the place in various closets in boxes. I usually wear the same few shoes all the time...

What a great idea!! If shoes could talk, each and every pair would have a fantastic story to tell.

I agree with the other comments... this is very innovative. And I like the words on the work too. I can imagine them having little conversations. :) lovely.

Feng Shoe Power!
All previous comments point to the BRILLIANCE of your creative project! Shoes take on a 'personality' all their own. It was the ugliest , size 13, Saturday Night Fever Purple Men's Shoe (with a 4" heel) that introduced me to the love of my life! Look forward to your next installment!

THIS IS AWESOME! fabulous illustrations. I always say there is no such thing as too many shoes. I have so many of them, I am scared to count. Everyone says I have 200+ too, & I have a closet dedicated to them, but I don't think I want to know how many I have...
