Abstract Art for Inspire Me Thursday

Red, for Inspire Me Thursday. Pencil, marker & gouache on craft paper.

My initial sketch for this piece is here,

It was inspired by a photo I took a few days ago, of my red coat.

To see what other ideas I tried for this week's entry, have a look here.

Tammy, this is very effective! I have never done anything abstract so it is a total learning experience for me. I like yours alot.

That's neat how it came out. I like that you showed us how you did it, too.

Although you had a sketch, the finished piece looks so spontaneous! I like the boldness of it.

I love that you used a photo of your coat as the inspiration. Who'd have thought? I like your onion inspired drawing, too.

This is really awesome! It shows how even a familiar object can become abstract depending on how you make the composition and treat the subject. I also love the pieces you did below...and your faraway lands. You've been busy!

Amazing how we can find art in everyday objects. And look for the abstract designs. Wonderful and love that color red.
