Sorry for Illustration Friday

There are some things you should never have to say...
"Honey, I'm really sorry I ran over your cat," is one of them.

Ink and marker pens on craft paper.

This drawing was inspired by a photo taken by Helen Levitt in 1938. It was one of a series of photos she took in New York City, of chalk drawings done by children on the street. A really small version of the image is below, it was found on the Amica Library site.

cute; very 'outsider art'ish. Is that a word? It is now.

Yeah, honwy I ran over the cat is a real downer, but your artwork is very cool. Sharp as ever!

I think you're still on your abstract kick...and it works great here. Running over a cat isn't a goos thing...I don't think "sorry" would work:< I love the childlike quality and the little kitty head floating above the figure.

I love your quotes. both here and on your other site about 'mistakes' and 'failure'. I have a gift for you to share with others called the Art of Wire Tree-making. "To give a person a tree is to give them a present...to teach a person how to make a tree is to give them a gift for life."
My job is not to teach students but to study teachers. Please...share it with the children.
your humble servant,

No-sorry is not going to work with that one. That kind of sorry takes a lifetime I think. Cheers!

God I love the eyes! What a great idea to go off of a drawing by a child for this topic. I love it - very cool!

It's the multiple pupils in her eyes that speak out to me, the cat is getting her revenge by multiplying her vision... wierdly cool!

That's got to be a tough line to deliver... We've got a cat with a death wish who flirts with death everytime I come into the driveway.

Love the illustration.
