9.6.10 ~ 100ish word diary

For this week’s sleep-is-for-the-weak writing workshop, I wanted to write about one moment of simple, profound pleasure. But I couldn’t think of any. None that didn’t involve food anyway. And writing about food is like writing about sex.  No matter how good a writer you are, people would rather be doing it than reading about it.  Plus there are no words to describe the wonders of garlic.  So I wrote something else then deleted it. There’ve been enough rants on my blog lately.

Here are some small mercies instead. The eagerly awaited local play area finally opened and Jake loved the maze. Also, he ate an entire apple at nursery. (At home he spits it out).  And at naptime, he ran downstairs crying but came back again, albeit with some Tupperware. I stayed calm. He fidgeted, then asked for cuggles and fell asleep quickly, in my arms.

Hooray for small mercies. Even though they are small they make up for some big chunks of bad

Oh wow I love that maze! My Kai would love that!

Significant moments don't need to be big or fancy. As mothers it's these little events that make our days tick slower and faster - that makes them pretty significant after all :)
